The following are a number of photographs capturing fun days held in local areas. Many areas hold these days , although times vary. Some were deliberately held to coincide with volatile times on the calendar but as the years have gone by and the reduction of potential trouble on these dates some areas have opted for different times of the year. A popular time is the last weekend in August, traditionally the last throw of the children’s summer holidays.
The snaps give an flavour of the fun days held in many areas right across the city. They are also enhanced by other events such as community festivals, summer camps and MUGA programmes.
As part of their day Callanbridge also officially unveiled a bench dedicated to the memory of Ann Loughlin a long standing member of the group who sadly passed away recently.
